Network self-configuration

To be accessible by the average digital consumer, the product must take care of all the configurations itself. No questions about IPs, network shares, netmasks and domains.

In most cases, Zinstall migrations are performed via a network. This may mean two PCs connected directly with a network cable, a corporate network or even the Internet. Whichever it is, Zinstall must provide easiest possible configuration to the user. And the easiest one is, of course, no configuration at all.

All the user has to do is plug the physical cable into the PC. Zinstall takes it from here. It examines the network environment, detects the required network configuration and performs it. Zinstall then starts “looking” for another Zinstall-running PC on the network. Once they find each other, the connection is established, and the user gets a “green light” to click the “Go!” button.

The whole process is transparent to the user. No easy wizards, no questions about IP addresses and port, no network shares, no configurations at all. Just plug the cable in.
