Learn how to transfer Quickbooks to a new computer - with Windows 7, 8 or 10

When you get a new computer, the first order of business is to transfer (copy) your stuff to it. For many of us, tax software such as Quickbooks and TurboTax is key to day-to-day operation of their business. Getting Quickbooks set up on the new computer thus becomes priority #1. How is that done?

Of course, you can try and set up Quickbooks from scratch, using the installation disks that you have and the license information you have written down. But how do you transfer your data, your reports, your settings? What if you no longer have the CDs, or don't remember your serial numbers?

An alternative to the manual method is using Zinstall. This tool will do the transfer automatically, and copy Quickbooks software, data, reports, settings - and even other applications and files you have on your old computer.

Q: Which Windows versions will Zinstall work with?
A: Zinstall works with XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10. Yes, this does mean that you can transfer Quickbooks from XP to Windows 10!

Let's take a look how that transfer is done.
