Data deduplication has gained its reputation with the rise of modern storage and backup systems.The core principle of deduplication is that if two chunks of data are the same, they should be stored once, and transferred once.

It is not uncommon for a user system to store the exact same file in several copies. In some cases, such as with movies and music, these duplicates may add a substantial amount of raw data to the system.

Zinstall deduplicates the data at the source - before it even leaves the system. Less data to transfer means less network bandwidth - optimizing costs and network load. This, in turn, leads to migrations being finished much faster.
